David Weber

David Mark Weber is an American science fiction and fantasy author born in 1952.
He is best known for his military science fiction, particularly the Honor Harrington series set in the "Honorverse." Weber frequently features strong female protagonists in traditionally male roles.
His writing often incorporates naval themes and complex political storylines.
The Honor Harrington character, inspired by Horatio Hornblower, has been developed through numerous novels and anthologies.
Weber has made many of his works available online through the Baen Free Library or as sample chapters.
He donated his archive to Northern Illinois University in 2008.
